Hello! We are glad to have you here! We would like to share some information about us and our family. There are four children ages 8,10,13, and 15 in our family. We began homeschooling when the eldest was about 3 years old. Our curriculum is eclectic. That means that we do not use any one particular curriculum package. We believe that "school" should not be just reading textbooks and answering questions. We believe that learning and discovering are everyday events, therefore we school our children year round, even on weekends. Learning is a constant process and having fun while we learn is the key to our homeschooling success. Although we have a blessed family, we have had our share of misery and have personal knowledge of the toll the stress of this life has on marriage and raising a family. A partial (yes, partial as it seems that where one of these issues exist many others are linked to it!) list of heart wrenching agonies we have endured are: abuse , addictions, anxiety, depression. Underlying those problems was the need to understand how someone's childhood riddled with alcoholism, anger, depression, molestation, suicide, and death in general can bring havoc and despair to anyone--even those who think it can never happen to them. The very fact that we have four beautiful, well adjusted, smart and equally talented children is a testimony to the power of the blood of Jesus Christ and His ability to turn ALL, not merely some, things into something good for those who love Him. It still isn't always easy to keep things together, mentally or physically, but we have hope. Please read Romans 8:28 in your own Bible and claim that promise for your own life! In case your Bible is out of reach, here it is; "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him" NIV " And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God" KJV Not some things, but all things! Amazing! Do you, or anyone you know, have any of those issues in your past? Or perhaps you know of someone who is messing up their future right now by allowing themselves to be overcome by stress? If the answer is "yes" to either of those questions, I extend a personal invitation to browse through our site to see if perhaps the direction in which you need to be searching can be found among these pages. Life will still have its ups and downs, and sometimes you may even feel like you have just been run over by a semi, but just knowing that you are a loved child of the Almighty Creator can help to soften the blows and help you to raise your eyes and look up even when the rest of you is in the mud! You are NOT alone.
